| “I feel better knowing that my art
class students are passing through areas
that are patrolled. We are doing a good
thing for Glen Park.” Barbara (program
subscriber, owner of The Painting
Experience,7/19/09) |

"We need more of these Patrol Special
officers on the streets city-wide to
deal with crime. The SFPD-application
review process should be a careful one,
but it should also be speedy." (Ken,
Surrey St., 3/15/10) |

“That’s the kind of calming effect we
want in our Village so we can get back
to our business and our life. And as
Officer Cal often says, criminals do not
want to be seen. The Patrol makes it so
much harder to fly under the radar and
wreak havoc. The relief that people
express at seeing Cal around our Village
is the best possible endorsement of the
program." (Judith, Arlington St.,
7/19/09) |

“Officer Wiley is a business owner just
like our merchants, but he serves our
neighborhood needs first. He’s not
working off-duty and doesn’t have to
return to a daytime job, or report a
certain number of statistics to prove
his worth. He works for safety in our
entire Village. In fact, if there are no
incidents to report at our monthly
steering committee meetings, he’s done a
good job for us. We don’t need a sledge
hammer in policing to solve simple
disturbances on the street, and we do
need someone who will encourage folks to
do the right thing to begin with.” (Ann,
Chenery St., 7/1/09) |
| |
“Officer Cal’s presence inspire
confidence in his ability to help us as
he gets to know the idiosyncrasies of
Glen Park and sees patterns of events,
both normal and sinister.” (Mary, Miguel
St., 4/4/09) |

|
“The more the community sees our Officer
on duty and knows that we are actively
demonstrating our commitment to safety,
the more the overall community culture
will shift from complacency to that of a
proactive stance for our own welfare and
safety.” (Alexis, Diamond St., 4/1/09) |

“We can express the approach we wish our
officer to take toward Glen Park,
consistent with our special culture and
social milieu.” (John, Arlington St.,
4/1/09) |
