like our merchants, but he serves our
neighborhood needs first. He’s not
working off-duty and doesn’t have to
return to a daytime job, or report a
certain number of statistics to prove
his worth. He works for safety in our
entire Village. In fact, if there are no
incidents to report at our monthly
steering committee meetings, he’s done a
good job for us. We don’t need a sledge
hammer in policing to solve simple
disturbances on the street, and we do
need someone who will encourage folks to
